DAY TRIP

The Safari Day Trip to Tarangire National Park has so much to offer. You will see zebras, elephants, Maasai giraffes, wildebeest, buffalos and most likely predators such as lions, sometimes even cheetahs and leopards, besides plenty of bird life, just in one day. The park is famous for its unrivalled landscapes of open plains with an abundance of the fascinating ancient Baobab trees and splendid vistas of rolling savannah and acacia woodlands. It is also famously known as the Home of the Elephants, having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and providing unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families.

Tarangire National Park covers an area of about 2,850km² situated 120 km south of Arusha. It is a pretty magical place to visit especially during the dry season, from May to October. Regardless, we promise, you won´t regret visiting this park even if you come during the rain season. True, getting around could be a bit trickier, but we use Land cruiser 4x4 that can take that challenge. The upside of the rainy season is that you will get to see even more elephants than in any other time of the year!

Itinerary

Early in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and after being familiar with the guide we will drive to Tarangire National Park for the game drive. Here you will enjoy everything the park has to offer while driving across its beautiful landscapes and encountering different wildlife like ungulates, different species of birds and lots and lots of Baobab trees which aren't found in other parks in the region.

Our guides will do a game drive through the park depending on where they are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetah and leopards) as they are harder to spot as herbivores while giraffes, wildebeest, zebras etc. are plenty to see through the park.

After the first half of the game drive we will stop at Tarangire River Picnic Site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and animals looking for precious water and enjoy the meals from our lunch boxes. This picnic area is secured, still small monkeys and baboons might try to steel some lunch from you, but there is nothing to worry about.
After lunch we will proceed with the game drive driving along the very famous Tarangire river, the only source of water during the dry season. If we are lucky we will see elephants drinking water or rolling in the mud and other animals like buffaloes or zebras.

Late in the afternoon we will drive you back to Arusha or Moshi and drop you off at your hotel.

Duration of this day trip will be approximatly 10 hours.
