Amazing experience! Support one of the only Tanzanian woman-led Kilimanjaro tour operators 🇹🇿 Ekeney and her team made this experience so wonderful. Climbing Kilimanjaro was one of the most physically challenging feats I’ve ever done in my life. Ekeney and her guides got to know each of us in the group they were constantly checking on us to make sure everyone was physically and mentally taken care of. Ekeney’s debriefings each night prepared us for what to expect each day—from the terrain to the type of weather to expect. Ekeney has skillfully and thoughtfully planned out routes and sets a pace that allows the group to acclimatize appropriately to the extreme elevation. On summit day, you’ll start hiking in the dark. It’s intense with steep inclines, but the Wander Women team is one of the only teams on the mountain where guides and summit porters sing traditional songs in Swahili during the hike, which was such an amazingly beautiful experience as the sun was rising in the distance. It’s also very noticeable how few women are working as Kilimanjaro guides and porters, so it was wonderful to be a part of a local Tanzanian women-led team. Ekeney is not only providing economic opportunities to women in the area, her work sends a message to women and girls locally and across the world that they are powerful and deserve opportunities to forge a path for themselves. In addition to a 6-day Kilimanjaro trip, my Wander Women experience also included a walking tour of Moshi with a visit to a local market, a waterfall pre-hike, and a visit to Ekeney’s family’s home, which is also a local coffee farm. We also went to a local swimming hole/hot springs, which was perfect for sore muscles after hiking Kilimanjaro. The trip ended with a walking safari through Arusha National Park, where we saw giraffes and wart hogs (up close!) along with zebras, buffalo, monkeys, and many other animals. I highly highly recommend Wander Women Tours. It was such a beautiful experience in every way. 🇹🇿✨

Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Adventure with an Incredible Sisterhood 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Life-Changing Journey with Wander Women on Kilimanjaro From the very first step on the trail to the moment we stood on the Roof of Africa, my experience with Wander Women’s Kilimanjaro trek was nothing short of extraordinary. The trip was organized with so much heart, care, and attention to detail. Our guides were not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but also deeply supportive—helping us feel safe, strong, and encouraged every step of the way. The porters and crew were absolutely amazing, carrying both the physical and emotional weight of the climb with such grace. What made this trek especially unique was being surrounded by such a powerful group of women. We lifted each other up, laughed together, and created a bond that will last a lifetime. Wander Women didn’t just lead us up a mountain—they created an empowering space where we could challenge ourselves, break through limits, and celebrate each victory as a team. The accommodations, food, and logistics were all thoughtfully arranged, making an intense climb feel as comfortable as possible. And reaching Uhuru Peak? Absolutely unforgettable. I’ve never felt so inspired, proud, and connected to both nature and community. If you’re dreaming of Kilimanjaro, I cannot recommend Wander Women enough. This was more than just a trek—it was a soul-stirring adventure that reminded me what women are capable of when we rise together.

Amazing Wander Women! 💪 Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro Wander Women was an unforgettable and deeply empowering experience. From the very beginning, the team created a supportive, professional, and welcoming environment that made me feel safe and confident every step of the way. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to everyone’s needs. They carefully monitored our health, kept a steady pace, and constantly encouraged us, especially during the more challenging days. Their experience and positive energy made a huge difference, particularly on summit night, when motivation and trust in the team are essential. What truly sets Kilimanjaro Wander Women apart is the strong sense of community they create. Being surrounded by inspiring women from different backgrounds made the journey even more meaningful. We supported each other, shared laughs, and celebrated every small achievement together. The organization was excellent, from logistics to meals and accommodation. Everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully focus on the climb and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Reaching the summit was an incredible achievement, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to experience it with. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro Wander Women to anyone looking for a safe, well-organized, and empowering Kilimanjaro adventure.

Kilimanjaro Wander Women gets you to the summit with a big heart! Kilimanjaro Wander Women was hands-down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I originally chose them because they’re women-owned and women-run, and I wanted my trek to support that kind of leadership. But the moment we hit the trail, I realized I hadn’t just booked a guided summit hike for 8 days via the Lemosho route — I’d booked an entire experience built around care, competence, and genuine heart. Our crew for the 8 day Lemosho route was incredible: 19 people supporting 4 hikers, and every single person made a difference. The organization was seamless, the daily rhythm felt dialed in, and the level of support was beyond anything I expected. The guides were next-level knowledgeable — not just about the mountain, but about pacing, acclimatization, and how to keep everyone safe and feeling confident. They were consistently attentive and safety-focused, while still being so fun, upbeat, and human the whole way. Honestly, it felt like being wrapped into a mountain family. And the result speaks for itself: they got us to the summit and back down safely, happily, and feeling proud — not just exhausted. I left with unforgettable memories, deep gratitude for the team, and a huge amount of respect for how Wander Women runs their treks. If you’re considering Kilimanjaro, book with Kilimanjaro Wander Women. You’ll get professionalism and safety at the highest level — and you’ll also get warmth, joy, and a crew that truly has your back from day one to the final step.

Look no further! This is an INCREDIBLE & LIFE-CHANGING organization Kilimanjaro Wander Women is so much more than a tour company; they are single-handedly revolutionizing the mountaineering industry in Tanzania & empowering dozens of local women with the skills & opportunities necessary to thrive in a historically male-dominated industry. I recently completed the 8-day Lemosho route with Kilimanjaro Wander Women and it was one of the BEST experiences of my life. The kindness, strength & determination of the women who supported me throughout my climb left me so moved & inspired. Throughout the 8 days, I felt so cared for by my guides & porters - they treated me like a sister! Judy, Zenobia & Grace were the BEST guides & brought so much fun to every day! Massive shout out also goes to Tinniy, Constasia, Maggie, Pendo, Ashura, Flaviana, Martha, Swalile, and ALL the other incredible porters who supported our team. These amazing people all played a HUGE role in our summit success & were easily the best part of this already life-changing experience. When coming to Tanzania & wanting to climb Kilimanjaro, I think it’s really important to consider who & what you want to support in doing so. Unlike many “budget” Kilimanjaro companies who sadly do not care well for the wellbeing of their guides & porters, Kilimanjaro Wander Women pays their porters double the usual porter wage & ensures they get three meals a day & have appropriate footwear & clothing during the climb. Also, consider how the vast majority of the porters & guides with Kilimanjaro Wander Women are single mothers - it is really powerful to be walking alongside these women on the tallest mountain in Africa & frankly, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
